I really don't know why it doesn't cost more than the Peterson. IMHO, the Sonic Research is to the Peterson what a Music Man is to a Fender, quality and feature wise. It doesn't have a DI like the Peterson if that is of importance. The Petersons have an open design which allow them to collect dust on the display in a short matter of time.

As a plus it is true bypass and is in a dust sealed inclosure. But it does result in more accurate tuning because even when the leds are just barely moving it is already more precise than the Peterson when the bars are frozen. I realize that the increase in accuracy over the already accurate Peterson may seem like an overkill. It is built like a tank and is the size of a phase 90. Guitar and Bass Tuner Pedal with True Bypass, Buffered Output, and Buffered Monitor Modes Open and Alternate tuning presets and High-definition LCD Screen with Variable-color LED Backlight. That is five times more accurate than the Peterson.

Sonic Research.a better alternative to Peterson?
